ESCANABA -- The Bay de Noc Choral Society will present a Spring Concert on Sunday, April 16 at 1:30 p.m. Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba will once again host this annual event. The focus of the concert will be music written about war & peace. Selections include Haydn's "Mass in Time of War", "0 Day of Peace", "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?" by Pete Seeger and an arrangement of the spiritual "Down By the Riverside". John Rutter's "The Lord Is My Shepherd " and his new composition, "A Ukrainian Prayer", will also be performed.
The Choral Society will be joined by guest musicians playing percussion, hand bells, flute, violin and more. Ann Wood is the director and John Ignatowski will accompany the singers on the piano and organ.
There is no charge for the concert and a free will offering will be accepted. A portion of the collection will be donated to a Ukrainian relief fund.
