Bay College hosts Upper Michigan Safety Conference

ESCANABA — On Friday, April 28 Bay College will host their annual Upper Michigan Safety Conference. The conference features 20 plus workplace safety presentations, including keynote speaker duo Russ and Laurel Youngstrom. The Youngstroms will share their heartfelt journey in hopes that at least one person in the audience will stop and think before they make a choice they can never take back. Their story is one that shares the experience of a husband and wife living with paraplegia as the result of a careless workplace decision. The conference registration is now open and early bird pricing ends on April 10. There is a fee to attend which includes continental breakfast, lunch, and dedicated vendor time.

Safety and health practices are always evolving, and our annual safety conference keeps you up to date with the latest industry trends, regulatory updates, and awareness training. From interactive sessions, and inspiring presentations to networking opportunities, we offer content so you can continue to improve your company’s safety programs, and safety culture and decrease your incident rates.

The full-day conference offers workplace safety and health presentations and demonstrations applicable to all industries. A sampling of presentations at this year’s conference includes: Accident Investigation, MIOSHA’s Top 10 Violations, Safe Chainsaw Cutting, Fall Protection Standards, Ergonomic Workplace Assessments, Silica Awareness, Welding Safety, and Avoiding Injury within the Workplace. Michigan’s Center for Truck Safety Mobile Simulator and various vendors/exhibitors will be on-site with up-to-date safety training and products.

This year’s keynote speakers are sponsored by Enbridge Energy, PotlatchDeltic, and VAST Solutions.
