U.P. high schools part of Christmas Tree Spectacular

ESCANABA — The Upper Peninsula Region of The Salvation Army has partnered with local high schools this year for its second annual Christmas Tree Spectacular. Eleven schools from Schoolcraft, Delta, Marquette, and Alger counties have decorated trees and are battling it out to win “best-decorated tree” this year. All proceeds from voting will go to supporting the services in each of the high school’s communities.

“This year we wanted to involve the next group of socially active volunteers and show them how their time and effort can impact an entire community,” said Cari Detmers UP region development director. “And who doesn’t love a little friendly competition between schools?”

You can see the trees on display at the Westwood Mall in Marquette, The Delta Plaza Mall in Escanaba, Nicolet Bank in Manistique, and People’s State Bank in Munising. There are 2 ways to vote for your favorite tree or school:

To vote for your favorite tree, visit www.bidpal.net/christmastree2022. Voting began Friday, November 18 and will continue through midnight on December 9. Each dollar donated is one vote.

The students will finish their competition with a Bell Ring-off on Saturday, December 10. Each dollar raised will count as one vote.

The totals will be added together and the school with the most votes, and money in their kettle will win.
