RAPID RIVER — On Sunday, July 17, UP Wild Delta County will host a Nature Prayer Gathering in Rapid River with the theme “Wherever you are standing, you are on sacred ground.” This event will begin at 3 p.m. and should last around 45 minutes at Dutch Mill County Park, 13149 S 15 in Rapid River. Motivated by an urgent concern for the Earth and its ecosystems, the gathering will focus on connecting with the Creator in the wilderness, recognizing the impact humanity has had on the environment, and activating hope for a better world.

For those who have never attended one, a nature prayer gathering is a time to meet outside in community, seeking to find the sacred in the natural world. During this event, you may expect a reflection on nature, the opportunity to go out into the wilderness, a time to share your thoughts and feelings, a moment of prayer, and a closing poem. Afterwards, there will be community time with tea and snacks.
