Bay College celebrating 60th anniversary
ESCANABA — Bay College turns 60 years old this November. Join Bay students and employees for 3-days of celebratory festivities on November 2, 3 and 4 and share your favorite memories with the college on social media using #Bay60 and #ILoveBayCollege.
The celebration kicks off on Wednesday, November 2 with a “60th Birthday Party” from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Besse Center/HUB area on the Escanaba Campus. All are welcome to come onto campus and enjoy birthday cupcakes, games, and live music by the Bay Band.
“Dress like it’s 1962!” apparel contest and trivia will take place in Cafe Bay on Thursday, November 3 at noon. Plus, jump into the 60’s themed photobooth and get your photo taken. Be sure to share your photos or a favorite nostalgic memory on social media using hashtag #Bay60. Also, participate in GAME-APALOOZA from 5 to 7 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $2 or a donation to the College’s Food Pantry. Close out the evening by attending The Gordon Lightfoot Tribute concert performing “Lightfoot – The Stories, The Songs”, happening in the Besse Theater starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now. On Friday, November 4 come cheer on the Norse and wear your green and blue. Women’s basketball is playing at 6 p.m. and men’s basketball at 8 p.m. There will be giveaways, on-court contests and entertainment, and the Norse mascot. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door prior to the game. Bay students get in to all Norse games free of charge.
