ESCANABA — The Bay Sages will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Bay de Noc Community College Besse Center Theater.

The Bay Sages is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational programs for older adults in the Delta County area. Dues include monthly newsletters, coffee and rolls at regular meetings and a wide variety of educational opportunities for members. Guests and new members are welcome. Dues are payable at the meeting or can be mailed to the Bay Sages Office at Bay College.

The program will feature Jessica LaMarch and two other members from the Bay de Noc Bee Keeping Club on the trials and tribulations of beekeeping. It is much more than setting out hives, purchasing bees, and sitting back to wait for the “harvest of honey.”

Of special interest to flower and vegetable gardeners will be what plants to place in your yard to lure bees and other pollinators. Also, what not to do to your yard that may deter them and even kill them.

Refreshments will be provided prior to the meeting in the Besse Center lobby.
