U.P. Labor-Management Council conference set

BARK RIVER — The U.P. Labor-Management Council, Inc. has once again selected the Island Resort & Casino in Harris as the host site for its 2022 Annual Conference. The annual conference, entitled “Labor-Management Working Together in a New Era”, has been scheduled for Thursday, March 3. The one-day conference will feature five educational seminars for participants. The morning general session is “Your Legal Questions Answered: Cards on the Table and Playing the Hand You are Dealt”, panel moderated by Attorney Laura Reilly, Kendricks, Bordeau, Keefe, Seavoy & Reilly, P.C., Marquette. Breakout sessions include “Labor 101 – New Union Member Guidance” presented by Mike Smith, U.P. Construction Council, “Activating Labor-Management Committees in the Workplace” presented by Don Maki, F.M.C.S., and “Strategies to be an Employer of Choice” presented by Kerri Turri, Northstar EAP Business Coaching & Consulting. All three breakout sessions will be offered once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The final general session for the 2022 Annual Conference will be “Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace”, Javier Ramirez, F.M.C.S., invited speaker.
