ESCANABA -- The City of Escanaba Recreation Department has received a donation from the Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation to help with the cost of constructing a new splash pad to be located in Escanaba at the current Webster Wading Pool site. The project will include accessible benches, picnic tables, outdoor shower and shaded areas. The bidding and construction process will begin in summer/fall 2022.
"The project entails a splash pad in a park-like setting at an estimated cost of $225,000. The project is listed in the Five-Year Recreation Plan and is a great project to incorporate within the City. We are happy to have the Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation donate to this great project where many citizens and visitors can enjoy," said Kim Peterson, recreation director.
