ESCANABA -- The community is invited to participate in the first ever Christmas Memorial Service and Poinsettia Fundraiser. This event is being sponsored by UP Health System Hospice, Delta County Cancer Alliance and AirMedCare Network.
"Knowing that the Christmas season is often difficult for those of us who have lost a loved one, it seems we are always looking for one more day or one more way to keep our memories close by. Together we want you to know we care and we understand the challenges many are experiencing," organizers said.
The public is invited to purchase a poinsettia in honor or memory of a loved one. Poinsettias can be purchased at Wickert's Floral, 230 Stephenson Avenue, Escanaba. Orders can be made in person or by calling 906.786.1922.
All poinsettia plants will be delivered to the Chamber of Commerce for the Christmas Memorial Service on Sunday, December 5. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Delta County Cancer Alliance.
The poinsettias will be displayed at the Christmas Memorial Service on Sunday, December 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Delta County Chamber of Commerce, 1001 North Lincoln Road, Escanaba.
