Food safety class being offered

MANISTIQUE — A food safety class will be offered by Michigan State University Extension on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 319 Walnut St, Manistique,. The one day training uses the ServSafe 7th Edition Manager curriculum. An exam is administered at the end of the course. Attendance at the training is required. Instructor is Stephanie Ostrenga Sprague, MPH – MSU Extension food safety educator. There is a fee fro training plus a fee for a 7th edition ServSafe Manager book with the exam answer sheet. You must purchase your book ahead of time. Contact Stephanie Ostrenga Sprague about ordering the book. A score of 75% or above on the exam is required in order to receive a certificate.

The class is for staff who work at: restaurants – institutional settings like school cafeterias.
