ESCANABA --Support from businesses is making the U.P. State Fair possible through sponsorships
Enbridge will be providing a $10,000 sponsorship in support of this year's U.P. State Fair.
Enbridge supplies energy to North American communities through liquid pipelines, natural gas pipelines, renewable energy, and gas distribution and storage. Providing power to many of the homes throughout North America, Enbridge is also known for its charitable giving. In 2020 alone, they invested $19.3 million in community-strengthening initiatives focusing on the safety, vibrancy, and sustainability of American and Canadian communities.
When the state transferred ownership of the fairground's operation to the U.P. State Fair Authority and its management agent, the Delta County Chamber of Commerce, there was no longer financial appropriation available from the State of Michigan. Thankfully, every year, businesses like Enbridge have stepped up to support the Upper Peninsula's largest event.

Bruce Moore is the president and general manager for Highline Internet and was born and raised in Michigan. Moore has 25 years of experience in the telecom and broadband industries and is looking forward to serving the rural communities of the Upper Peninsula. Engineering and construction is currently taking place, and Highline expects to provide services to its customers by the end of this year.

Meijer is also offering a 10% U.P. State Fair admission discount for first responders, healthcare, and grocery store workers, including its team members, when a company-issued name badge is presented on Sunday, August 22. This is not the only instance the Meijer has stepped up to support those who have had a challenging year because of COVID-19.
In November of 2020, Meijer announced that their Simply Give program was on track to provide more than 80 million meals to local food pantries. The Meijer Campaign also replenishes the shelves of over 250 food pantries throughout Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.
The U.P. State Fair will start Monday, August 16, through Sunday, August 22. Attendees are guaranteed a full week of action-packed family fun. Fairgoers can expect hilarious free midway acts, an array of vendors, carnival rides provided by Skerbeck Entertainment Group, and big-name grandstand entertainment. That Sunday of the Fair is the Ohio Dukes Stunt Show with UPIR Races followed by a firework display.
