OSF Adult and Child Sleep Diagnostic Center re-accredited

ESCANABA — The OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group Adult and Child Sleep Diagnostic Center located in Escanaba recently received program reaccreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).

To earn a 5-year reaccreditation, a sleep center must meet or exceed all standards for professional health care as designated by the AASM. These standards address core areas such as personnel, facility and equipment, policies and procedures, data acquisition, patient care and quality assurance. Additionally, the goals of the sleep center must be clearly stated and include plans for positively affecting the quality of medical care in the community it serves. In successfully completing the reaccreditation process and upholding the Facility Standards for Accreditation, the program also demonstrates dedication to further the advancement in the field.

Now in its 22nd year, the OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group Adult and Child Sleep Diagnostic Center is directed by Raghu J. Kasetty, MD, and offers state-of-the-art technology for the treatment of sleep disorders. Conditions that are diagnosed and treated include sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, sleepwalking and night terrors. For convenience, in certain cases, home sleep study equipment is available to use in the comfort of one’s own home.

“We are extremely proud to have earned this reaccreditation. We will continue to align our Mission to provide safe, quality health care, exceptional patient experiences and services that improve and support a healthy community in alignment with the standards of the AASM,” said Paul Capodilupo, manager of cardiopulmonary services.
