West Shore Fishing Museum raffle planned

MENOMINEE — West Shore Fishing Museum is holding its annual raffle. Prizes include: Handmade Quilt donated by Northwoods Quilters; $150 donated by Anderson Diehm; $150 donated by First National Bank and Trust; five $100 prizes and two $50 prizes donated by members of the Bailey Property Preservation Association, Inc.

Tickets can be requested by calling 906-863-7214 or 906-863-5901. The drawing will be at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the museum pavilion. It will be live streamed on the West Shore Fishing Museum Facebook page.

The museum has been closed for most of the summer and has cancelled its large fund-raising events. The lack of revenue is especially difficult this year because money is being raised to build a large addition to the existing gift shop. The new section will include a large display and meeting room, an archive room, storage, and two unisex restrooms. To date, the utilities, foundation, and floor are complete. The next step is to frame in the building. This raffle will assist us in that portion of the project. Museum volunteers will be able to do some of the finishing work inside as the project proceeds.
