Community bingo game brings family fun

ESCANABA — With family activities being limited by the pandemic, Delta County Communities That Care (CTC) is inviting families to have fun and try new activities in a COVID-safe way with the launch of a bingo game.

“We’ve designed it as a mix between a scavenger hunt and a bingo game,” said Michelle Chaillier, Delta County CTC co-coordinator, who said she hopes it will be a fun way for families to connect and explore together.

The game challenges players to try new things (like a recipe or a hobby), visit local places and engage in other activities designed to spark conversations, shake up the monotony of a socially-distanced lifestyle and, ultimately, have fun and deepen family bonds. Participants will be invited to share their experiences and post photos on the Delta County CTC Facebook page. Those who complete a bingo will be entered into a drawing to win gift cards to local restaurants or the top prize of a $50 Visa gift card.

The game card and instructions can be found on Delta County CTCís website (www.deltactc.org) and Facebook page. The game will run through the month of September, with prizes being drawn in early October.

Delta County CTC is a coalition of organizations and citizens working together on community problems such as substance abuse, delinquency, violence and suicide, with special emphasis on issues affecting youth. Community input and participation are central to the CTC model. To learn more about how you can get involved, call 789-8105.
