Concert to benefit Parton’s Imagination Library

BARK RIVER — This week’s Funday Sunday Benefit Concert at Northern Sun Winery and Vineyard features Chicago musician-singer Kraig Kenning.

There is a fee to attend. Proceeds benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for youth, sponsored locally by the United Way of Delta County.

Concert begins at 4 p.m. Sunday and proceeds rain or shine. A free vineyard tour precedes the concert at 3 p.m. Fans of contemporary folk, acoustic blues and “roots rock” will find something to their liking as well as marveling at his award-winning finger-picking on acoustic and steel resonating guitar. He has toured the U.S. for three decades, performing in intimate venues and at popular music festivals.

The vineyard observes social distancing restrictions but offers ample space for affinity group picnicking and seating. Hand sanitizer stations are located on the grounds. Masks are required inside the tasting room, where capacity is limited to four guests at a time; wine service counters will be available around the grounds for concert guests.

Early arrivals can spread blankets or set up their lawn chairs. No alcoholic beverage carry-ins are permitted.

The winery and vineyard, is located south of Bark River and U.S. 2 at 983 10th Road. Watch for “Pure Michigan” directional signage along U.S. 2 in Bark River and roadside signs on southbound D Road (South Bark River Road).
