Menominee Animal Shelter receives grant

MENOMINEE — The Menominee Animal Shelter received a $4,000 grant from the Impact Fund for COVID-19 Relief held at the M&M Area Community Foundation (MMACF). The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation established this fund in March to help nonprofits whose resources have been strained by the coronavirus.  The Foundation seeded the Impact Fund with $25,000. Additional donations were made to the fund by community members throughout Marinette and Menominee Counties.

The Menominee Animal Shelter serves all of Marinette and Menominee cities and counties in helping to reunite lost dogs and cats to their owners and finding new homes for surrendered and abandoned pets. We vaccinate, spay/neuter and address other diagnosed heath needs of the animals before placement and have earned the right to be labeled as a No Kill Animal Shelter.

These grant monies will be used to help cover some of the revenue lost from cancelled fundraisers. We are dedicated to remaining a much needed service to the communities and resolve to continue to serve the animals as needed during these uncertain times.
