Upgrade impacts Esky utility payments

ESCANABA — The City of Escanaba is in the process of upgrading multiple software programs at city hall, one of which includes utility billing. As part of this process, the City will not be able to accept any payments for utilities starting on July 1. This includes on-line or in-person. The city will start being able to process payments again on Monday, July 6. Any late fee or penalty will be waived during the days we are shut down.

With the new software, customers will be able to pay utility bills, taxes, permits, and more by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) or electronic check. Residents will also still be able to mail a check, as well as pay at the utility window at city hall.

Visit the website at http://escanaba.org and click on “Online Payments” on July 6. Here customers will be able to sign in to the new system to monitor your monthly bills, sign up for paperless billing and more.

For more inflrmation contact the city’s utility department at 906-786-0552, weekdays between 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
