Individuals sentenced in circuit court

ESCANABA — The following individuals were recently sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court on unrelated charges.

Jesse James Tahash, 26, of 112 Cliffs Dr., Kipling, pleaded guilty to two counts of controlled substance — delivery/manufacture — meth. He received concurrent sentences of a minimum of three years and a maximum of 20 years in prison, and was given credit for 385 days served. Tahash was ordered to pay $266 in fines and costs.

Justin Michael Beauchamp, 32, of 2800 College Ave., Escanaba (care of Delta County Correctional Facility), pleaded no contest to a count of controlled substance — delivery/manufacture — meth. He was sentenced to a minimum of seven years and a maximum of 20 years in prison and given credit for 262 days served. Beauchamp was ordered to pay $198 in fines and costs.

Stephen Andrew Smith, 49, of 801 Prospect St., #9, Munising, pleaded guilty to a count of controlled substance — delivery/manufacture — meth and a count of controlled substance — possession/analogues. He received concurrent sentences of a minimum of four years and a maximum of 20 years in prison on the first count and 11 months jail on the second count, and was given credit for 260 days served. Smith was ordered to pay $326 in fines and costs.

Zachery Luke Willingham, 29, of 405 N. Smith St., Greenville, Mich., pleaded guilty to a count of controlled substance — possession of meth/ecstasy, a count of weapons — ammunition — possession by felon and a count of controlled substance — maintaining a drug house. He was sentenced to a minimum of 30 months and a maximum of 10 years in prison on the first count, a minimum of two years and a maximum of five years in prison on the second count, and a minimum of 16 months and a maximum of two years in prison on the third count. The sentences will be served consecutively to time from another case Willingham was involved with. Willingham was ordered to pay $334 in fines and costs.

Matthew Sean Spry, 42, of 630 S. 14th St., Lower, Escanaba, pleaded guilty to a count of attempted criminal sexual conduct — third degree. He was sentenced to a minimum of 29 months and a maximum of five years in prison, and was given credit for 142 days served. Spry was ordered to pay $258 in fines and costs.

Joseph Daniel Zarate III, 28, of 1401 N. 18th St., Lower Apt., Escanaba, pleaded guilty to three counts of uttering and publishing, three counts of forgery and three counts of computers — using to commit a crime — maximum imprisonment of 10 years or more but less than 20 years. He was sentenced to 12 months jail and given credit for 97 days served, to be served concurrently to jail time from another case he was involved in. Zarate was placed on probation for 18 months; he will serve the first nine months in jail immediately and the remaining three months will be held in abeyance until a successful completion of probation. He was ordered to pay $1,992 in fines and costs and $175 in restitution.

Joseph Daniel Zarate III, 28, of 1401 N. 18th St., Lower Apt., Escanaba, pleaded guilty to a count of uttering and publishing, a count of forgery, and a count of computers — using to commit a crime — maximum prisonment of 10 years or more but less than 20 years. He was sentenced to 12 months jail and given credit for 97 days served, to be served concurrently to jail time from another case he was involved in. Zarate was placed on probation for 18 months; he will serve the first nine months in jail immediately and the remaining three months will be held in abeyance until a successful completion of probation. He was ordered to pay $334 in fines and costs.

Micheal Darren Bumstead, 20, of 5988 Horseshoe 22.3 Dr., Gladstone, pleaded guilty to police officer — assaulting/resisting/obstructing. He was sentenced to six months jail and given credit for 129 days served. Bumstead was ordered to pay $698 in fines and costs.

Cassandra Elizabeth Kolaske, 31, of 308 S. 18th St., Lower, Escanaba, pleaded guilty to a count of controlled substances — possession (cocaine, heroin or another narcotic), less than 25 grams. She was sentenced to five months jail and given credit for 32 days served. Kolaske was placed on probation for 18 months. Her driver license was suspended for 30 days and restricted for 150 days, and she was ordered to pay $1,388 in fines and costs.

Kristine Mary Jensen, 54, of 8279 N.7 Lane, Gladstone, pleaded guilty to a count of operating — with the presence of a controlled substance. She was sentenced to two months jail and given credit for one day served. Jensen’s driver license was suspended for 30 days and restricted for 150 days, and she was ordered to pay $50 in fines and costs.

Kayleigh Margaret Shope, 27, of 9924 U.S. 2, Rapid River, pleaded guilty to attempted controlled substance — possession of meth/ecstasy. She was sentenced to 141 days jail and given credit for 141 days served. Shope was placed on probation for 12 months. Her driver license was suspended for 30 days and restricted for 150 days, and she was ordered to pay $1,268 in fines and costs.
