Esky virtual city budget workshops start Monday

ESCANABA — The Escanaba City Council will hold virtual two city budget work sessions next week, starting Monday.

Due to the expected length of the meetings, they will not be streamed on Facebook. However, residents can still log in to the meetings through the city’s website, www.escanaba.org. Logging into the meetings also allows residents to participate in public comment periods held at the beginning and end of the meetings.

To log in to the meetings, click on “Virtual Meetings” on the city’s website, locate the meeting you wish to participate in, and click “Join Virtual Meeting.”

Residents may also participate in the public comment periods by calling in to the meeting. To do so, call 1-408-418-9388, enter access code 960 045 942 and press #.

Monday’s meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and can be found on the virtual meeting list as “04/06/2020 — 9:00am Monday’s Virtual City Budget Work Session.” Tuesday’s meeting will also being at 9 a.m. and can be found under “04/07/2020 — 9:00am Tuesday’s Virtual City Budget Work Session.”

Meeting participants will initially be muted and will be called upon by the name registered or the phone number used. Participants are asked to fill in their full name when entering meetings virtually so they can be called upon appropriately.

Once called upon, participants will be unmuted and will be able to participate in the “Brief Public Comment” period, held in the beginning of the meeting, or in “General Public Comment,” held at the end of the meeting. Comments in Brief Public Comment are limited to the discussion of agenda items, while General Public Comment allows participants to comment on any item.
