ESCANABA — DS Tech, a local technology service provider (MTSP), has collectively raised and donated over $1,200 in supplies to Hope at the Inn, a homeless shelter in Delta County. The mission of Hope at the Inn is to enable guests to find or maintain employment, secure housing, and save funds for those expenses. In a chaotic time of economic uncertainty, the homeless population has been impacted dramatically by the Coronavirus, but fortunately, the team at DS Tech has taken the initiative to offer support to the community.
Hope at the Inn was in need of various supplies to better attend to their guests and employees from DS Tech came together and purchased an assortment of socks, t-shirts, underwear, full-size blankets, sheet sets, pillows, silverware, kitchen utensils, dishes, kitchen towels, baking sheets, hot pads and bath towels.
DS Tech is regularly involved in various charitable causes, as the leadership have committed to not only lead the community towards a bright future with advanced technology, but to lead the community in the present through donations and support, however feasible. DS Tech focuses on three main areas of community support. The first is supporting causes which are near-and-dear to team members on a personal level. Second, DS Tech involves itself in causes that are emotionally significant to customers. Lastly, DS Tech also takes initiative to support the community whenever there is an unforeseen event, which imposes significant needs among members of the community.
“It’s such an honor to work alongside such an altruistic group of people,” states Eric Wakkuri, President of DS Tech. “This initiative is a testament to the character of our employees and really captures how much they care about the well-being of others. It’s an absolute privilege to know every single member on our team. I am very proud of what we stand for.”
