ESCANABA — The following individuals were recently sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court on unrelated charges.
Joshua Thomas Lark, 42, of 7396 County 426 M.5 Road, Gladstone, was sentenced in two cases involving failing to comply with the sex offenders registration act.
In one case, Lark pleaded guilty to one count of sex offenders – failure to comply with registration act – third or subsequent offense notice. He was sentenced to a minimum of 19 months to a maximum of 10 years in prison and credited for 127 days already served.
In the second case, Lark pleaded guilty to one count of sex offenders – failure to comply with registration act – third or subsequent offense notice. He was sentenced to a minimum of 19 months to a maximum of 10 years in prison and credited for 127 days already served.
The sentences are to be served concurrently.
Lark was ordered to pay a total of $396 in fines and costs.
Bryan Adam Dupey, 32, of 525 S. 14th St., Escanaba, was sentenced in three cases involving controlled substances.
In the first case, Dupey pleaded guilty to one count of controlled substance – delivery/manufacture (cocaine, heroin or another narcotic) less than 50 grams. He was sentenced to 243 days in jail and given credit for 243 days already served. Dupey’s driver’s license will be suspended 30 days and restricted 150 days.
The second case, Dupey pleaded no contest to one count of controlled substance – possession of meth/ecstasy. He was sentenced to 243 days in jail and given credit for 243 days already served. Dupey’s driver’s license will be suspended 30 days and restricted 150 days.
In the final case, Dupey pleaded guilty to one count of controlled substance – delivery/manufacture – meth. He was sentenced to a minimum of three years to a maximum of 20 years in prison, and given credit for 243 days already served.
The sentences are to be served concurrently.
Dupey was ordered to pay a total of $594 in fines and costs.
Jessie Marie Weissert, 39, of 1306 N. 16th St., Escanaba, was sentenced in two cases involving bad checks.
In the first case, Weissert pleaded guilty to one count of check – non-sufficient funds – three within 10 days. She was sentenced to six months in jail and credited for 102 days already served. She will be placed on probation for 18 months.
In the second case, Weissert pleaded guilty to one count of check – non-sufficient funds – three within 10 days. She was sentenced to six months in jail and credited for 102 days already served. She will be placed on probation for 18 months.
The sentences are concurrent.
In both cases, Weissert’s sentences are held in abeyance until the end of the term of probation or until ordered by the court.
She was ordered to pay a total of $1,286 in fines and costs, and $2,939.60 in restitution.
Zakary Arthur Barnhart, 18, of 904 S. 15th St., Escanaba pleaded no contest to one count of attempted peace officer — disarming/firearm, one count of peace officer — disarming/non-firearm, and two counts of police officer — assaulting/resisting/obstructing. He received an amended sentence of 12 months jail for each charge, to be served concurrently, and was credited for 145 days served. Barnhart was ordered to pay $402 in fines and costs.
