Stuck semi blocks Gladstone highway
GLADSTONE — A stretch of M-35 between the U.S. 2 & 41 and 29th Street in Gladstone was closed for a half hour Tuesday, after a semi hauling a yacht got stuck.
Gladstone Public Safety Department officers were called to M-35 near the overpass by Krist Oil for a semi blocking the highway at around 11:05 a.m. Tuesday.
According to officers, a semi hauling a yacht was headed towards Sault Ste. Marie but misunderstood its permit and took the incorrect route.
The semi driver came upon the train overpass on M-35 near the intersection of U.S. 2 & 41 in Gladstone and realized the semi and yacht would not fit, police said.
The semi tried to turn around and became stuck on snow — blocking four lanes of M-35.
