Players de Noc auditions Sunday, Monday

ESCANABA — Players de Noc announces upcoming auditions for both its winter musical Mamma Mia! and annual Christmas radio show. Kathy LeDuc, director of the radio play, needs a large cast, including children through adults of any age. Miracle on 34th Street, this year’s presentation, will rehearse Dec. 17 and 18 with one live performance on Thursday, Dec. 19.

Directors Lynn Soderberg and Tom Knoll say a large cast of young adults on up are also needed for the popular musical based on tunes from the musical group ABBA. The story takes place on a Greek island as a young woman on the eve of her wedding tries to discover the identity of her father and brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island. Hilarious results ensue as mom reunites with both her former boyfriends and members of her singing group, Donna and the Dynamos. Rehearsals begin on Jan. 5 with performance dates set for March 5,6,7,8,11,12,13 and 14, 2020.

Auditions for both productions begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, and Monday, Dec. 9, at the Wm. Bonifas Fine Arts Center theatre. Auditions for the musical will consist of solo singing, script reading and some dancing. People interested do Not need to bring music, but are asked to wear comfortable clothing and shoes to dance. Only reading will be required for the radio show. People may audition for both shows and only need attend one night session. For any questions call 906-789-7468.
