ESCANABA -- People with diabetes or pre-diabetes can improve their health by joining a Diabetes-PATH workshop that will be offered for free locally with sponsorship from the YMCA of Delta County and the Lions Clubs of Michigan. This Stanford University evidence based program has been researched and proven to improve the health of adults with diabetes or pre-diabetes.
In just six weekly sessions Diabetes-PATH participants learn strategies for managing their diabetes including techniques to deal with symptoms such as fatigue and anxiety along with information about healthy eating, appropriate use of medications, exercise and working effectively with their health care providers. Participants learn to make realistic, achievable action plans and share their experiences to help each other solve problems.
This Diabetes-PATH workshop will be held once a week on Wednesday evenings Oct. 16 through Nov. 20 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.at MTEC Rm 2018, located at 2000 N. 30th St. Escanaba. There is no cost to attend and all materials are provided.
