Hope at the Inn volunteer training set

ESCANABA — Hope at the Inn, Delta County’s rotating homeless shelter, is gearing up for its seventh season, which will begin on Nov. 3. Training for new volunteers and refresher training for returning volunteers is offered on Sunday, Sept. 22, at noon at Covenant Church in Gladstone and Monday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran in Escanaba. More trainings will be posted on the website www.hopeattheinndelta. Training lasts about 75 minutes and equips participants to confidently volunteer at any of the nightly shifts: 5:30-10:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m.-3 a.m., 3-8 a.m. Bring your own work to do during the wee hours of the morning, or just sit and chat. It’s also a great way to earn community service hours. Call Lisa with questions at 420-1311.
