Defendants sentenced in court
ESCANABA — The following individuals were recently sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court in unrelated cases.
Janet Ellen Kipina, 50, of 200 Marble St., Broomfield Colo., pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated – third. She was sentenced to 10 months in jail and credited for 71 days already served.
Kipina’s driver’s license will be revoked. She will be placed on probation for 10 months. Kipina was ordered to pay $1,008 in fines and costs.
Nicholas James Micheau, 40, of 9495 Bay Shore Drive, Gladstone, pleaded no contest to one count operating while intoxicated – third and one count police officer – assaulting/resisting/obstructing. He was sentenced to a minimum of two year to a maximum of five years on the first of these counts, and was sentenced to a minimum of 16 months to a maximum of two years on the second.
He was given credit for 119 days already served on both counts. The sentences shall be served concurrently. Micheau was ordered to pay $266 in fines and costs.
