Concert to benefit Imagination Library

BARK RIVER — Mid-summer music of Northern Sun Winery’s annual “Funday Sunday” Benefit Concert Series brings the duo Genna and Jesse to the vineyard’s performance grounds Sunday, July 21. The internationally traveled couple features an eclectic range of musical styles from retro to soul to pop tunes. They performed at Northern Sun the past two summers to appreciative audiences.

This second concert in the summer series will benefit the Delta County United Way’s Imagination Library project.

Concert begins at 4 p.m. and proceeds rain or shine. Early arrivals can spread their blankets or set up chairs to enjoy the winery’s specialty wines in the tasting room or outside around the pergola. A free vineyard and wine cellar tour begins at 3 p.m. prior to the afternoon concert. Visitors are welcome to bring snacks or a picnic lunch (no alcoholic beverage carry-ins permitted).

There is a fee to attend and tickets are available at Northern Sun, the Delta County United Way and the Delta County Chamber of Commerce in Escanaba or the day of concert.

Northern Sun is located south of Bark River and U.S. 2 at 983 10th Road. Watch for directional signs from U.S. 2 and on southbound D Road (South Bark River Road).

Upcoming in the “Funday Sunday” series Aug. 18 will be U.P. Gumbo from Marquette, who bring their version of zydeco and New Orleans style music to the vineyard again. Proceeds from the August concert will benefit Delta County Non-motorized Trails.

Starting at $3.50/week.
