HYDE — The Highland Golf Course’s 4-person Scramble Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 8, will benefit U.P. Honor Flight.

The Highland Honor Flight FUNdraiser will feature 18 holes of golf, donuts and coffee for breakfast, lunch, and a dinner buffet. Prizes will be awarded for each flight. There will also be skins, a silent auction, bucket raffles and more. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.. Golf cart rentals will be available. Women’s, men’s, senior and combined teams are all welcome, and the ladies and seniors tee boxes will be moved up to “level the playing field.”

The Highland is located seven miles west of Escanaba on US 2.

Entries are limited to the first 36 foursomes. Registration forms are available at the clubhouse or can be found on the Highland website: go to www.highlandgolfclub.net and download the entry form from the “Event” tab. Registration forms and payments are due by May 31.

If you’re not a golfer but still interested in supporting the UP Honor Flight, or if you’re a business owner and interested in donating a raffle prize or item for the silent auction, the Highland would welcome your donations. Contact Kathy at 466-2791.

The mission of the UP Honor Flight is to fly Upper Peninsula World War II, Korean and Vietnam veterans to Washington DC to visit and reflect at their memorials. This “Tour of Honor” is provided at no cost to the veterans. Funds generated from the scramble will go toward the next Honor Flight on Sept. 18.

For more information, call the Highland at 906-466-2791.
