Community Foundation awards grants

ESCANABA — The Community Foundation for Delta County Grants Committee announced the foundation’s spring grants round recipients. The following organizations receiving grants were American Legion Post 438-American Legion Baseball; Bark River Baseball Boosters Club- field and equipment upgrades; Bay de Noc Community College-Wizard of Oz Musical; Bay de Noc Community College Foundation- college student food pantry; Camp New Day UP-scholarships for children of the incarcerated; City of Escanaba Recreation Department-Tapani and Royce Baseball field upgrades; Delta County Animal Shelter-Microchip Clinic; Delta Conservation District-Fuller Park Wheelchair access; Delta County Area Chamber of Commerce-Multi-Use Complex at U. P. State Fairgrounds; Delta Schoolcraft Intermediate School District-Career & Technical Education Camp; Escanaba Cubs American Legion Baseball- field improvements; Escanaba Seventh Day Adventist Pantry and Community Center-pantry updates and needs; Escanaba Township Fire Department-turnout gear; Eskymos Blue Line Club-player safety equipment; Gladstone High School Baseball Boosters, Inc.-equipment; Mid Peninsula PTO-National Youth Leadership Forum; Mid Peninsula School-Robotics; and The Salvation Army-Hope at the Inn Shelter supplies.

“It is a privilege and honor to be part of an organization that is able to provide grants to a multitude of Delta County organizations that help make our area a better place for all. The community foundation is able to provide funds to these entities only through the wonderful generosity of our donors who care about their community,” said Community Foundation Board Chair Robert Van Damme.

“It is very rewarding to know what we do as a community foundation has such a positive impact for our citizens,” Grants Committee Chair Will Carne Sr.

The Community Foundation for Delta County currently has 192 different funds. Gifts may be made for either one or more of these funds or a donor may want to have a fund of their own.
