Bay Sages plan meeting on June 6

ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Bay Sages will be held on Thursday, June 6, at 10 a.m. at the Joseph Heirman University Center, Room 952.

The program for the month will feature Don Pyle, manager of the Delta County Landfill. He will give a background of the landfill, how it’s financed, and will emphasize recycling. He will answer questions such as: Do you know what is and is not accepted for recycling? Why is glass not taken? Does recycling pay for itself?

The June meeting will also feature the birthday luncheon. The meal will be roasted chicken breast in cream sauce with herb roasted potatoes, Caesar salad, garlic bread and birthday cake. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Rita Parrotta at 399-0027 no later than May 23. There is a cost to attend.

Members and guests are welcome to attend meetings of the Bay Sages, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting lifelong learning opportunities for older adults. There is a yearly membership fee which includes 11 monthly meetings, two of which are luncheon meetings, and monthly newsletters.
