Bay Sages plan meeting on May 2

ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Bay Sages will be held on Thursday, May 2 at 10 a.m. at the Joseph Heirman University Center, Room 952 at bay College.

The program for the month will be presented by Carrie Bartel Petrin on the Air Med Care Network. Air Med Care is the largest air ambulance members program of its kind, giving members coverage in over 320 locations across 38 states.

Our local air ambulance provider is Valley Med Flight. They have three aircraft located in the U.P. with a helicopter based on the grounds of OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. Bartel will share some information about how Valley Med Flight operates and other interesting facts about their services.

The June meeting will feature Earl Meshigaud as guest speaker on Native American Boarding Schools and the birthday luncheon. A meal and birthday cake will be served. Reservations are required and can be made at the May 2 meeting or by calling Rita Parrotta at 399-0027 no later than May 23. There is a cost for the event, with a discount for members.

Members and guests are welcome to attend meetings of the Bay Sages, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting lifelong learning opportunities for older adults. Membership in the organization is $18 per year and includes 11 monthly meetings, two of which are luncheon meetings, and monthly newsletters.
