Bay seeks Lunchtime Live! participants

ESCANABA — Bay College completed renovations to its outdoor courtyard in 2017 with the intention of creating space for students and community members to gather and enjoy the outdoors on campus. The college is announcing a new event called “Lunch Time Live!” beginning Thursdays in June through Aug. 1. Bay College welcomes community members to sit back, relax, and enjoy their lunch break with friends and co-workers while local musicians/creatives fill the air with their harmonies, and food vendors satisfy appetites.

To make the event a success, Bay College encourages local musicians interested in sharing their talents by completing an application right away to be featured in the performance schedule. The application is available at https://www.baycollege.edu/lunchtimelive and inquires about the type of music that will be performed, date(s) available to perform, the number of performers who will be featured, and what if at all equipment the musician(s) will provide and/or is required.

Bay College students, faculty, and community-members are welcome to apply of all experience levels. Applications should be completed by May 3. Performers should plan on availability between 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM taking into account set-up time and performance between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Community members may wish to bring their lunch, we welcome food vendors to provide provisions for purchase in the adjacent parking lot. Food vendors and Food Truck operators with current State of Michigan licensing are encouraged to apply right away to be included in the summer schedule and Lunchtime LIVE’s promotional materials. The application is also available also available at https://www.baycollege.edu/lunchtimelive

Sponsors wishing to partner in any or all Lunchtime LIVE events may contact Emilie Schada at events@baycollege.edu before May 14. These funds will be used to provide musicians with a stipend in return for their sharing of their talents with the community. The goal is to raise $1,000 or more for this inaugural year in hopes of creating a new tradition at Bay College.
