Holy Name offers Summer Academy

ESCANABA — This summer, Holy Name Catholic School will again be holding its Summer Academy, with the theme this summer being “explorers.” Summer Academy is open to area students in kindergarten through eighth grade, from all area families (current Holy Name families and non-Holy Name families), and will run from July 9 through Aug. 2, Monday through Thursday. The day will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon.

“Holy Name Summer Academy is a four-week enrichment plan based upon each child’s needs. We hope to sharpen the children’s skills and help give them a head start for the 2018-2019 school year,” Holy Name Principal Joe Carlson said.

There is a cost to attend the four-week session. Teachers will be working to increase the children’s skills, giving them that extra step into the 2018-19 school year. The days will be structured around reading, math, writing and science activities, many of which will be “hands on.” In addition, there will be recess and snacks. Summer Academy students do not have to wear school uniforms; instead, they can dress in casual summer clothes.

The school is asking that parents register their children for Holy Name Catholic School’s Summer Academy by June 21. To register your child, or for more information, please call the school office at (906) 786-7550, or visit the school office at 409 S. 22nd St.

Starting at $3.50/week.
