Esky students help Toys for Tots

The Escanaba High School hockey team, the Eskymo Blue Line Club and the Spanish Club recently teamed up for a United States Marines Toys for Tots Drive. The drive began with a drop-off event at a home hockey game at the Hannahville Ice and Turf Complex. After the national anthem prior to the game, each Eskymo hockey player donated a toy, skating down the ice to the donation box and thanking the veterans for their service with a handshake. Students, staff and the public were also encouraged to drop off toys at the Spanish classroom, the high school and junior high offices. Shown, from left, are Spanish Cub members Allie Dubord and Maddy Gardner with veterans Mike King and Bill LaMarch at the Toys for Tots drop-off site set up at the EHS hockey game.
