ESCANABA — The public is invited to provide input on Escanaba’s 2018-2019 budget at a public hearing scheduled for Thursday’s regular council meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at city hall.

In other business, council will consider approval of a contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation to resurface and widen a section of 3rd Avenue North, a request for proposal for a community solar project, and increasing a city secretary position from part-time to full-time.

Council will also consider approving a deficit-elimination plan for the Downtown Development Authority, which will show a budget deficit for several years for an internal loan from the city to help construct the new marketplace.
