ESCANABA — Sunday, Oct. 22, is Movie Day for United Way at Willow Creek Cinema, and Thomas Theatre Group will be donating a portion of the day’s concession sales to the United Way of Delta County.

“They’ve been doing this for many years,” said Julie Mallard, executive director of the United Way of Delta County, who noted that this was already a long-standing annual event when she arrived at the United Way 12 years ago. “They’ve given well over $1,000 back to the community through these Movie Days.”

United Way funds stay in Delta County, invested in local programs focused on education, financial stability, health and basic needs.
