ESCANABA -- The next meeting of the Bay Sages will be held on Thursday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College.
The topic of the meeting will be "Murder, Mahem, and Misfits", a program presented by author Sonny Longtime of Marquette.
A lifelong resident of Marquette, Longtine is the author of six books on Upper Michigan. He will present his most popular program about murder in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This is a power point presentation that provides 250 images as a backdrop for spine-tingling murders from 1846 to 2006 that turned quiet communities into fear-ridden crime scenes. He profiles murders beyond the edge of madness, where cunning and passion are harbored in dark hearts and diabolical minds.
Members and guests are welcome to attend meetings of the Bay Sages, which is an organization dedicated to promoting lifelong learning opportunities for older adults. Membership in the organization is $18 per year and includes 11 monthly meetings, two of which are luncheon meetings, and monthly newsletters.
