ESCANABA – First Bank Upper Michigan recently announced the promotion of Alex DeHaan to assistant vice president (AVP) and trust officer within the Investment Management Group, which offers a variety of investment services for local clients.
DeHaan’s promotion follows nearly nine years of “dedication and expertise in providing exemplary service to our clients,” read a press release from First Bank, which has offices in Escanaba and Marquette.
After starting his career at First Bank in September 2017 as a financial advisor, DeHaan obtained his Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 and 66 licenses and reportedly built strong client relationships over six years. In January 2024, he became a trust and investment officer, “further enhancing his contributions,” says the release.
On July 15, DeHaan was promoted to Assistant Vice President while continuing his role as a trust and investment Officer.
“Alex’s knowledge and focus on client service have made significant contributions to our team and clients’ financial success,” said Investment Management Group manager Ben Zyburt.
First Bank’s Investment Management Group, locally-owned and managed, is comprised of fifteen investment professionals who manage “nearly three-quarters of a billion in assets… (for) clientele (that) ranges from individual investors to non-profit and institutional clients,” according to their website.
“As Alex approaches his ninth anniversary at First Bank, he is well-prepared to excel in his new leadership role, continuing to provide vital trust and investment advisory services,” wrote First Bank Marketing Coordinator Rena DeGrave.
