Chouinard to step down as Delta Fence, L&C president/owner

ESCANABA — L&C Enterprises-USA Inc. dba Delta Fence & Construction announced that Ron Chouinard will step down from his position as president/owner as part of L&C’s succession plan. Kevin Sodermark, current vice president, will succeed Mr. Chouinard, as company President.

Mr. Sodermark commented, “On behalf of L&C and Delta Fence, I’d like to extend our deepest thanks to Ron, Jodi and the Chouinard family for the thirty plus years of service to both companies. In those years, he led the business in roles as Fence Crew Foreman, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Equipment Operator, Engineer, Manufacture, Innovator, President and Owner. During his tenure, both Delta Fence and L&C Enterprises-USA have experienced growth, with a current combined sixteen employees. Over the years, Ron’s engineering knowledge and focused leadership have earned him the utmost respect of employees, customers and stakeholders as well as many residents and businesses throughout Delta County and the greater Upper Michigan community. His tremendous efforts have helped strengthen both businesses and are reflected in the Company’s ongoing mission to be a driving force in the fencing industry by developing and manufacturing unique equipment that improves the productivity of the people who use them.”

Mr. Chouinard added, “I am honored to have led over the past three decades and very grateful for the many opportunities and experiences I’ve had throughout my career. I am extremely proud of our employees and their commitment to our customers. Given the strength of our people, culture and values, I believe both L&C Enterprises-USA and Delta Fence & Construction are well-positioned to thrive in the years ahead.”

Mr. Chouinard concluded, “I am confident both businesses will be in great hands with Kevin, who has done a tremendous job in helping lead us through our current phase of growth. His strategic vision will be instrumental to achieving our goals. In retirement, I look forward to seeing his continued innovation of L&C products as well as his strong desire to be a socially and corporately responsible community partner.”

Delta Fence & Construction and L&C Enterprises-USA are hosting a Delta County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours on May 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. to celebrate both fencing businesses, Ron’s career accomplishments, L&C’s leadership succession and the recent business expansion.
