GLADSTONE -- Gladstone Power & Light, the community's locally owned, not-for-profit electric utility, is celebrating 95 years.
Gladstone Power & Light is a member-owner of WPPI Energy, a not-for-profit wholesale energy provider and joint action agency. The utility's milestone anniversary received recognition at an awards ceremony during the WPPI Energy Annual Meeting on Sept. 14 in Sheboygan, Wis.
"I'd like to extend my congratulations and appreciation to Gladstone Power & Light for 95 years of service within their community," said WPPI Energy President and CEO Mike Peters.
"It's a significant milestone and we're happy to celebrate it with them today."
"Our utility is owned by the community, which is such a strength," said Electric Superintendent James Olson. "This milestone helps us consider what we have done for nearly a century and how we can continue to best serve everyone for the next 95 years and beyond."
