MARQUETTE -- Fox Marquette Subaru donated $16,400 to the Great Lakes Scuba Divers & Lake Preservation Club from proceeds gathered during the Subaru Share The Love Event. For every new Subaru sold or leased during the 2022 Subaru Share The Love event, Subaru donated $250 and Fox Marquette donated $60 to a designated local charity, or four national charities. Fox Marquette Subaru designated Great Lakes Scuba Divers & Lake Preservation as the 2022 local charity
recipient.
"Their mission to clean up the Great Lakes of debris and garbage is important to us, that's why we wanted to show our support for their organization" said Luke Hubbard, General Manager of Fox Marquette Subaru. "Lake Superior is where we recreate, and for a lot of us, it's the reason we live here. We hope our support of the Great Lakes Scuba Divers & Lake Preservation helps build awareness about their mission and goals, and motivates others to support their cause as well"
Don Fassbender, president of the non-profit organization, shared his gratitude for the support from donors. "Great Lakes Scuba Diving and Lake Preservation sincerely thanks Fox Marquette Subaru, for making us the local recipient for their Share the Love Event. Great Lakes Scuba Diving & Lake Preservation is a non-profit organization whose goal is to clean the underwater environment throughout the Great Lakes watershed. Pollution is not a problem unique to Marquette. Unfortunately, there are still tons of trash in the world's largest source of fresh surface water, Lake Superior. Fox Marquette Subaru's generosity will help equip our volunteer organization with gear necessary to continue our mission of cleaning up other harbors throughout the UP and beyond"
