Column: Open houses, ribbon cuttings are valuable
ESCANABA — For businesses or organizations that may be new, or moving to a new location in Delta County, getting the public acquainted with the location and products or services offered, is a primary goal. The news media, of course, and various forms of advertising will play a vital role in helping to accomplish this.
The Chamber of Commerce believes that some type of official opening such as an open house or ribbon-cutting ceremony serves the two-fold purpose of introducing our members to the community and helping to build good will and understanding among the public.
The Chamber works to assure that these events are a success. The main idea is to attract people to the place of business and then to keep them interested and entertained while there. There is no charge for the Chamber’s involvement – it’s a value-added benefit of being a member.
The traditional ribbon-cutting event is very popular and is an important part of an overall marketing and advertising plan. This continues to be a great way to kick-off a grand opening of a business. It offers an opportunity to meet the key leaders in the community and get acquainted with neighbors and fellow Chamber members. The Chamber and Ambassadors of Delta County will provide a photographer, first-dollar certificate, ribbon, scissors and smiling faces!
The Chamber is excited to take part in the following upcoming ribbon cutting/open house celebrations:
