ESCANABA — Bay Veterinary Clinic welcomes new owner and veterinarian, Dr. Lisa Gartland. Dr. Gartland was born and raised in Escanaba and has been practicing veterinary medicine for the past 10 years in Colorado.

Dr. Gartland and spouse Nick Sundstrom purchased Bay Veterinary Clinic in December of 2022 from Dr. Sue Laskaska, the clinic is open and currently accepting new patients.

Dr. Gartland and Sundstrom were raised in Delta County, both graduating from Escanaba High School. They are proud and beyond excited to be “home,” and look forward to serving the community for many years.

When recently asked how it felt to be home, Dr. Gartland stated, “I couldn’t be happier to be providing medical care to animals in the same town where I grew up. This has been a dream of mine for a very long time, I’m so honored that Nick and I can build our lives here, closer to family and our roots.”

Nick added “We want to thank the entire Upper Peninsula for the warm welcome home, we look forward to seeing you at Bay Veterinary Clinic and around town soon.”
