After 16 years of making ice cream treats for residents and tourists of the U.P. and visitors at the U.P. State Fair, Denise and Dan Nicholson have sold the Rapid River Dairy Flo. The new owners, and only the sixth in 67 years, are David and Jennifer King. David is the brother of Denise Nicholson, and he and Jennifer have had a hand in the business for several years. Jennifer also worked for previous owners (Pete and Cindy Brock) when she was in high school. The Kings plan on continuing the same ice cream treats and service that have made the Dairy Flo successful for all these years. The Nicholsons plan on seeing the United States, and will continue to scope out ice cream shops in their travels.
