Dr. Gartland joins the staff at Exact EyeCare

ESCANABA — Exact EyeCare of Escanaba welcomes Dr. LeAnne Gartland to its office and wishes the best of luck to Dr. Dale Freel in his retirement and Dr. Paul Raboin in his new position at the Veterans Hospital in Iron Mountain.

Dr. Gartland, who graduated with highest distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University joined the staff on August 2nd.

Dr. Gartland was raised in the Upper Peninsula by her grandparents, Sandra and the late LeRoy Brunette of Gladstone.

She graduated top-10 from Gladstone High School in 2012 and went on to study in Ferris State University’s Honors Program and was accepted into Michigan College of Optometry through the 3+4 Admissions Program.

During graduate school, she held various leadership positions including President of the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists, Community Service Chair of the Optometry Student Government and Student Ambassador for the Admissions Committee.

She continues to be involved in the Michigan Optometric Association and American Academy of Optometry.

Gartland’s previous position was at the Iron County Eye Center in Iron River, MI. This summer she moved back to the area with her husband Jake Gartland, son of Doug and Dianne Gartland of Gladstone. Together they enjoy hunting, spending time with family, and taking their puppy, Louie for long walks.

In addition to the new doctor joining Exact EyeCare, there has been new high-tech equipment purchased. These instruments will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, optic nerve disorders, diabetic complications, retinal disorders, and age-related macular degeneration.

Exact EyeCare is accepting new patients and becoming credentialed with Medicare. Dr. Gartland is taking appointments Monday – Wednesday and Friday. Call 906-789-0668 to schedule.”
