Furmanski named coop general manager

GLADSTONE — Alger Delta Cooperative Electric Association welcomes Mike Furmanski as general manager. Furmanski brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table and will be instrumental in guiding Alger Delta forward in a bold new direction, officials said.

Alger Delta Board Member and Interim Manager Dave Prestin expressed confidence Furmanski is ready to handle the job, saying “The hiring of Mr. Furmanski corresponds and aligns with Alger Delta’s vision of growth and cost control strategy. He will be pivotal to Alger Delta‚’s future success in providing affordable, reliable power to its members. The fact that Mike is an electrical engineer, born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, coupled with proven leadership, experience, determination, and devotion to his work makes him a great fit for our team.”

Furmanski brings a wealth of knowledge beginning with his graduation from Michigan Tech, with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering. He started his career working for a company based in Iron Mountain that specialized in energy-efficient lighting. His next career stop was at a large foundry in Marinette for five years. For the past 20 plus years, Furmanski has worked for the City of Escanaba municipal electric utility. Furmanski and his wife Regina, and daughters Brooke and Caroline live in Ford River.
