Mr. Bike and Ski has new owners

ESCANABA — After 35 years, Matt and Holly Marenger are passing the Mr. Bike and Ski torch to a former coworker and Bark River native Adam Haeusler and his wife Heidi.

“We are thrilled that Adam and Heidi are returning to Escanaba. There is no better duo to take over the shop. We know that with their backgrounds in the outdoor industry and commitment to serve others, they will certainly be able to support U.P. visitors and our community’s outdoor needs,” said Matt Marenger.

Adam has worked in the outdoor industry for nearly 20 years as a bike shop owner and Yellowstone Snowmobile and River Guide. Heidi started her outdoor career as a river guide, and for 12 years has excelled in the leisure, travel and tourism industry focusing her efforts on marketing and group travel.

“We believe that biking and skiing are the greatest forms of recreation and exercise available. Our mission is simple and that is to connect people to an active community that fosters passion and energy for the outdoors,” said Adam Haeusler.

The Haeuslers have spent the past decade living and exploring the Great American West and are excited to be returning to Escanaba with their two young sons, Wade and Jude. The owners will continue to work with the current Mr. Bike and Ski crew and offer sales and service of bikes, downhill and cross country skis, snowboards, snowshoes, apparel, accessories and fitness equipment. They are also working to add new products and services for this upcoming spring season.

The crew at Mr. Bike and Ski welcomes the Escanaba and surrounding communities to join their shop Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. to welcome the Haeusler family and have a last hurrah for the Marenger..

The business is located at 1016 Ludington St., Escanaba.
