ESCANABA — TJ Thomas has joined Race-Driven’s Polaris & KTM dealership in downtown Escanaba as general manager. The announcement was made by Brian Heiting, CEO of Race-Driven.

In his role, Thomas will oversee all dealership operations, including sales of new and pre-owned Polaris ATV/UTV & KTM Motorcycles in addition to parts/service operations.

“TJ understands our dedication to providing unmatched Customer Service,” said Heiting. “Our commitment to taking care of the customer has been the #1 contributor to our success to this point, and that culture is going to continue driving our future growth.”

Since the dealership opened in June 2019, Thomas said he looks forward to working with the existing team.

“We’ve got some tremendous talent among our service technicians and parts department. Our capabilities there alone really set us apart from the crowd. When you factor in the knowledge and professionalism of our sales staff and the immense industry experience of owners Brian and Christine… I’m really grateful to have the opportunity to join such a solid team of individuals,” he said.

While new to the dealership world, TJ is no stranger to off-road recreation.

“Some of my earliest memories as a kid are riding around my family’s camp property north of Newberry on my dad’s Polaris Trail Boss 250cc,” said Thomas. “For many in the U.P., early experiences like that was how we learned to control a vehicle. I rode around in circles, but man it was pure fun! That’s what excites me most about the work at Race-Driven. Our region has more opportunity for public land access than most parts of the world. We get to help people get out onto those trails, have fun, be safe and make memories!”

In his last role, TJ was executive director of the Delta County Economic Development Alliance after working in the Steel Sales sector across the U.S.
