ESCANABA — Each year the Delta County Chamber of Commerce organizes the Annual Christmas Shopping Excursion. This year’s shopping trip around Delta County will happen on Saturday, Dec. 8.

It will coordinate with the Chamber members and partners, The Steam and Gas Association’s Christmas in the Village and Escanaba Downtown’s Open House.

Stops in Gladstone, Escanaba and Bark River are planned at nearly 25 Chamber member shops and establishments. Guests on the excursion will be taken to Northern Sun Winery and Leighs Garden Winery for wine tasting and lunch will be served at Hereford & Hops. Most businesses will be offering special discounts or incentives to shoppers on this day only, making it a great time to shop for those special Christmas gifts.

It is one of the primary goals of the Delta County Chamber of Commerce to promote our local member businesses all year long, but especially during the holiday season. The shopping excursion is a great way to get a group of shoppers into many of our local shops in one day, encouraging Delta County residents to take a look at what is available for purchase locally.

Organizers are hoping to have a great turnout this year as they visit businesses in downtown Gladstone and Escanaba, with stops between the cities, as well as in Bark River. Promoting businesses in Delta County keeps them healthy and that keeps Delta County healthy.

Space on this popular event is limited and always in demand, so an early reservation is recommended. Pick up will be in the U.P. State Fairgrounds at Christmas in the Village, at 9:00 am with drop off planned around 4:30 p.m., the perfect time to visit the village.
