Gundlach Champion project featured

IRON MOUNTAIN — Design Cost Data Magazine highlighted the new Municipal Service Center project, which Gundlach Champion was contracted as general contractor and cost estimator by the city of Marquette. The design-build team of Gundlach Champion worked with Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber and GEI Consultants to plan, design, and construct the new Municipal Service Center.

The 110,000-square-foot facility was completed in 2017 and included vehicle maintenance, vehicle storage, integrated warm and cold storage, welding bays, a drive-through truck wash, locker room and break spaces for public works staff, and 17,000 square feet of offices configured for public works, engineering, and community development and planning.

Gundlach Champion, Inc. is the marriage of two of the nation’s most storied and inventive firms: Herman Gundlach, Inc. founded in 1898, and Champion, Inc. founded in 1921. For over a century, GCI has been providing preconstruction and project delivery systems to the commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and public facilities markets throughout the Upper Peninsula and the Midwest.
